Three Dead in Los Angeles Helicopter Crash
A helicopter crashed between two commercial buildings in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, killing three people and leaving one person's condition unknown.
Three people died when a helicopter crashed in the Chatsworth neighborhood of suburban Los Angeles on Monday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). One additional person was transported to a local hospital, with their current condition unspecified.
The aircraft impacted the ground between two commercial buildings, igniting a blaze that involved two shipping containers and several vehicles. Firefighters have since extinguished the fire.
Local media reports circulating shortly after the crash suggested the helicopter might have been a news aircraft operating near the site of a separate fatal bus accident. LAFD Captain Branden Silverman confirmed that one fatality was found outside the helicopter at the crash site.
The LAFD did not immediately release details regarding the operator of the helicopter or the number of individuals on board at the time of the incident.
