Thousands of attendees transformed into characters from comics, movies, and video games at the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. The four-day convention, held at the San Diego Convention Center, featured a vast array of costumes, from iconic figures to more obscure personalities.
Popular choices among cosplayers included Star Wars' Princess Leia, Harley Quinn, and Spider-Man. Attendees also embodied characters such as The Lorax, Aladdin's Jafar, and characters from popular animated series and games like Atom Eve and Invincible, and those from Dungeons & Dragons and The Legend of Zelda. Other notable costumes featured characters like the Raven Queen and Omni-Man.
The event aims to foster public awareness and appreciation for comics and related art forms. This year's convention also saw appearances by actors, including Johnny Depp, Rick Moranis, and Ryan Gosling. Ryan Reynolds was also present, appearing in a Deadpool costume for a Marvel panel.
Attendees showcased creativity with costumes representing figures from various media, including Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred from Scooby-Doo, and a Mandalorian Aztec warrior. Other elaborate outfits included a cosplayer dressed as the Na'vi Recombinant from "Avatar: The Way of Water" and a representation of Jim Carrey's character 'Cuban Pete' from "The Mask."
