Theo Burrell, a ceramics and glass expert known for her appearances on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, has died at the age of 39. Her death occurred four years after her diagnosis with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Burrell was diagnosed with the tumor in June 2022. Glioblastomas typically carry a life expectancy of 12 to 18 months. She joined the Antiques Roadshow team in 2018, appraising objects brought in by the public.
A statement shared on Burrell's Instagram account indicated that she died peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by her family. The statement highlighted her strength in fighting the illness, advocating for her family, and raising awareness for the disease. It noted that she had experienced significant life events, such as her son's first day at school and her wedding, which had been uncertain at the time of her diagnosis.
The statement also mentioned the support Burrell received from the cancer community, which provided her with comfort, strength, and hope. Her family expressed a desire for her story to offer hope to others facing similar challenges.
