ABC's "The View" is undergoing substantial cost-cutting measures, affecting both the hosts' compensation and their professional appearance. According to reports, all hosts on the program have seen their salaries reduced since the premiere of Season 29 in September 2025.

While Whoopi Goldberg, the show's longest-serving host, continues to earn a mid-seven-figure salary, other co-hosts have experienced different financial impacts. Alyssa Farah Griffin, a newer addition to the panel, is reportedly earning a mid-six-figure salary and was denied a significant raise when she requested one. Other hosts, including Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Ana Navarro, have also taken pay cuts.

The show's visual presentation has also been impacted, with the wardrobe budget reportedly being slashed. Sources indicate that the budget is now comparable to that of a less prominent daytime show, leading to dissatisfaction among the hosts who were accustomed to wearing designer clothing. The cuts are described as a progressive downsizing.

Further reductions are anticipated as the show prepares for its new season filming in September. The program has reportedly downgraded its filming space, and a popular annual Halloween episode has been canceled this year. Additionally, advertisers have shown less interest in product integrations on "The View," with some opting for competitors.

These cost-saving measures have led to what sources describe as tensions with ABC. Representatives for "The View" and ESPN, which is also owned by ABC, declined to comment on the reported cuts.

"The View" first aired in August 1997 and has seen numerous hosts over its decades-long run. The original lineup included Barbara Walters, Behar, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, and Debbie Matenopoulos. The show is currently executive produced by Brian Teta, who has held the role since 2017. Teta also hosts the show's companion podcast, "Behind the Table," which debuted in 2021.
