Charlotte Chilton, a participant on the second season of the reality competition series ‘The Traitors,’ was recently taken to the hospital after experiencing a severe attack of trigeminal neuralgia (TN). This incident occurred approximately six months after she underwent life-saving brain surgery.
Chilton, 35, shared a photograph of herself in a hospital bed on social media, accompanying it with the caption, “Another day, another TN attack.” Trigeminal neuralgia is characterized by sudden, intense episodes of facial pain that can feel like electric shocks. These attacks, which typically last from a few seconds to two minutes, can be triggered by everyday actions such as brushing teeth, talking, or even a cool breeze on the face, according to the NHS.
This is not Chilton’s first health scare following her brain surgery. In January, she suffered a seizure that left her temporarily unable to walk. This occurred shortly after her discharge from the hospital, when she collapsed at home. A source close to Chilton stated at the time that she was feeling run down and had developed tonsillitis and mouth ulcers, leading doctors to suspect her seizure might have been a reaction to new medication.
Prior to her January seizure, Chilton was admitted to the emergency room after a severe trigeminal neuralgia attack, which she described as “physical torture.” This led to her undergoing neurosurgery in an effort to provide long-term relief for the chronic condition, which is sometimes referred to as “the suicide disease” due to its profound impact on the mental health of sufferers.
After an 18-day hospital stay, Chilton was discharged and shared her recovery progress with her followers. She has spoken openly about her ongoing battle with trigeminal neuralgia, having previously undergone brain surgery in her twenties before the more recent severe flare-up.
In unrelated news from June 2024, Chilton claimed that singer Conor Maynard was the father of her daughter, Penelope, born from a one-night stand. However, two subsequent paternity tests indicated that Maynard is not the father, despite Chilton’s assertions.
