Men from The New York Post’s commerce team put Papatui’s offerings to the test for two weeks to assess their effectiveness and appeal.
Papatui Aluminum Free Deodorant
The aluminum-free deodorant was praised for its lasting freshness throughout the day, even during strenuous activity. One tester noted that unlike other brands, it did not cause irritation or rashes, even with heavy sweating. The sandalwood suede scent was described as not overpowering, and a tester in humid Florida found it effective and non-irritating.
While effective as a deodorant, it is not an antiperspirant, though Papatui does offer an antiperspirant version.
Papatui Exfoliating Facial Scrub with Volcanic Ash
This exfoliating facial scrub was found to be effective in removing dirt and sweat, leaving skin feeling clean. One tester reported a reduction in impurities around his T-zone. The scrub applies smoothly without clumping. A caution was noted that the product can irritate the eyes if not applied carefully.
Papatui Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen
The combination moisturizer and SPF was a hit, addressing dryness in facial hair growth areas more effectively than some more expensive brands. It was noted to leave skin feeling dewy and soft without a greasy residue, and did not cause irritation even when sweat came into contact with the eyes. The product absorbs well, though one tester mentioned it takes a little time to fully absorb.
Papatui Under Eye Patches
Described as easy to use, the under-eye patches provided a cooling sensation and were effective in reducing puffiness. One tester found them to be a favorite, particularly after a night of festivities, noting they felt refreshing and wakeful. While effective, one tester mentioned they felt slightly large for his face.
Overall Assessment
Both testers found the Papatui line easy to incorporate into their routines, even as newcomers to skincare. The deodorant, under-eye patches, and SPF moisturizer were particularly well-received. The hydrating facial cleanser was noted as the least favorite product among the testers. The affordability and wide availability of Papatui products contributed to a positive overall endorsement from the reviewers.
