HBO's period drama "The Gilded Age" will return for its fourth season on Sunday, November 1, at 9 p.m. ET. The series will stream on HBO and be available on HBO Max.

"The Gilded Age," created by Julian Fellowes and co-showrunner Sonja Warfield, is set in 1880s New York City and follows the conflict between old aristocratic families and newly wealthy industrialists. Season 3 concluded with Bertha Russell, portrayed by Carrie Coon, making a unilateral decision to marry their daughter Gladys to an English duke, a move that caused a rift with her husband George, played by Morgan Spector.

Other storylines from the previous season included Dr. William Kirkland's (Jordan Donica) proposal to Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), an alliance between Enid Winterton (Kelley Curran) and Oscar Van Rhijn (Blake Ritson), and footman Jack Trotter's (Ben Ahlers) departure from service to pursue a career as an inventor.

Season 4 will consist of eight episodes, with new installments airing weekly until December 20.

The series takes place during the historical Gilded Age, which spanned from 1877 to 1900. "The Gilded Age" Season 1 was set in 1882, Season 2 in 1883, and Season 3 in 1884. The upcoming season is set in 1885.

"The Gilded Age" is an HBO original. Subscriptions to HBO Max are available with ads for $10.99 per month or ad-free for $18.49 per month. A bundle including Disney+ and Hulu with HBO Max is also offered.
