The Corner Store, a Celebrity Hotspot, to Open Las Vegas Location
The New York City restaurant, known for attracting stars like Taylor Swift, will debut at the Cosmopolitan on November 9th.
The Corner Store, a popular New York City restaurant that has become a favorite among celebrities, is expanding to Las Vegas. The new outpost is scheduled to open on November 9th at the Cosmopolitan hotel.
Eugene Remm, co-founder of Catch Hospitality Group, which owns The Corner Store, stated that the expansion is a "natural next step." He added that the Las Vegas location will be double the size of the New York establishment and aims to provide access to more patrons who have struggled to secure reservations in the city. "For people who can’t get into The Corner Store, it is a way to experience the product, an opportunity to give access to more people," Remm said.
Despite the larger scale, Remm indicated that the restaurant would retain its sophisticated ambiance, avoiding a "big, crazy party" atmosphere. He believes the clientele in Las Vegas will be similar to New York's, with a strong local following also anticipated.
The Corner Store was Catch Hospitality Group's first new concept since the launch of Catch in 2011. Its success was followed by other ventures, including The Eighty-Six, Or’esh, and Cafe Charmant. The group also plans to open a new eatery, potentially a private members' club, in Manhattan in 2028.
Remm, who emigrated from Russia to the U.S. in 1980, has partnered with billionaire Tilman Fertitta, owner of the Houston Rockets and President Trump's US ambassador to Italy, since 2017. Fertitta's investment has helped Catch Hospitality Group scale from a New York-based operation to a national brand.
The menu at The Corner Store is designed as a tribute to New York City, featuring iconic dishes from the city's restaurants, alongside creative cocktails. Remm previously mentioned that the restaurant opened without a traditional public relations strategy, aiming for word-of-mouth to drive its success. However, the venue quickly gained attention from celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Dua Lipa.
Translating the intimate, "cozy-glam" vibe of the New York location to a larger Las Vegas space presents a challenge. While the menu will largely remain the same, the Las Vegas version will include larger steaks and exclusive cocktails. Remm emphasized that while the "vibe will be different," the intimacy of the original will be maintained through the room's layout, accommodating approximately 150 seats, which is considered intimate for the Las Vegas market.
Catch Hospitality Group already has a presence in Las Vegas with its Catch restaurant at the Aria Resort & Casino, which opened in 2018. The group also operates restaurants in various other cities across the U.S. and in Mexico City. The parallel presence of both The Corner Store and Catch within MGM Resorts International properties in Las Vegas is expected to facilitate a smooth operational launch.
