The Block Finale Sees Record Profits and Millionaire Winners
Courtney and Sev achieve the biggest ever profit in the show's history, with all teams walking away with substantial earnings.
The grand finale of The Block on Sunday night resulted in historic profits for its contestants, with several teams achieving significant financial gains. The season culminated in Courtney and Sev becoming instant millionaires after securing the largest profit in the show's history.
Courtney and Sev's House 4 was the second property to go under the hammer, with a reserve price of $3.45 million. The bidding quickly escalated, with the pair achieving half a million dollars in profit within moments. After a competitive auction, they sold the house for $4.72 million, earning an impressive $1.27 million profit. This result also included a $500,000 cash prize from host Scott Cam and a $100,000 winner's prize, bringing their total earnings to $1.87 million.
"It's so much more than we could've ever dreamt of," Courtney told nine.com.au. "Never in a million years could we have ever dreamt of that happening."
The first property auctioned was House 1, renovated by Adam and Jolene. With a reserve of $3.45 million, it sold for $3.905 million, netting the South Australian couple a profit of $455,000. The cattle station managers described the sum as "life-changing," indicating they would no longer need to return to remote work. The winning bid was placed by IT entrepreneur Danny Wallis, who has purchased multiple properties on the show throughout its history.
Lisa and Rosco, who had welcomed their second child days before the auction, put their House 3 on the market with a reserve of $3.45 million. The bidding resulted in a sale price of $4 million, yielding the couple a profit of $550,000. They sweetened the deal by offering the winning bidder a cuddle with their newborn son.
Chantel and Wyatt's House 2, also with a $3.45 million reserve, sold for $3.817 million, resulting in a profit of $367,000 for the Gold Coast couple.
The final property auctioned was Rick and Tayla's House 5. Initially set with a $3.5 million reserve due to its larger size, they were able to lower it to $3.45 million, opening the property to more bidders. The father and daughter duo achieved a final sale price of $4.355 million, earning them a profit of $905,000.
Across all five houses, the contestants saw substantial returns, with each team walking away with considerable profits, marking a highly successful finale for the long-running series.
