A Texas history teacher has been indicted on charges including providing alcohol to minors and tampering with evidence, stemming from an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student at Angleton High School. Holly Schroedter Adams, 41, was arrested Tuesday after a grand jury handed down the indictment.

Police allege that Adams had inappropriate relationships with at least one male student. According to a search warrant affidavit, an investigation began after a student reported to school staff that Adams was involved with a former classmate. The student also claimed that another boy had shown him a video from Adams' house, depicting him on a bed covered with nude photos of the teacher. Another photo allegedly showed the student and Adams cuddling on a couch.

Investigators also stated that Adams invited students to her house to help with chores. During questioning, Adams admitted to communicating with three members of the school's baseball team via Snapchat, according to charging documents.

During a raid on Adams' home last August, Brazoria County Sheriff's deputies seized four phones, 11 nude photos, and a photo book of naked images. Adams has not been charged with a sex crime.

The tampering with evidence charge allegedly occurred two days after the August raid, though details of the alleged tampering were not immediately available. The investigation, described as lengthy and intensive, involved interviews with current and former students and the examination of evidence.

Adams, who taught at Angleton High School since 2018, was fired last year. Her teaching licenses expired in February 2025 and have not been renewed. Records indicated she was under review by the Texas Education Agency Educator Investigations Division.

Adams' mother-in-law, Gina Adams, told the Daily Mail that the family was blindsided by the allegations, having learned of them through news reports. "We're going through so much, it's so messy," Gina Adams said. "It's devastating for us and our family. We weren't there and we don't approve and we don't have anything to do with it."

Adams was released on a $26,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The investigation remains ongoing.
