Texas Roadhouse is investigating allegations that employees tampered with food intended for Black customers, a claim the company has described as "unfounded." The accusations gained traction after a viral TikTok video, posted by user Sannie Yeanay, cited a Facebook group called "White and Proud" where alleged discussions took place about contaminating food.

The TikTok video, which has garnered nearly 500,000 views, claimed that members of the "White and Proud" Facebook group, which purportedly had over 400,000 members, discussed servers and cooks engaging in unsanitary practices such as touching food with soiled fingers and spitting on rolls meant for Black diners. The allegations also named Logan's Roadhouse.

In response to the viral video, Texas Roadhouse issued a statement on TikTok asserting its commitment to a respectful and hospitable environment for all guests. "We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or mistreatment of any kind," the company stated. A subsequent statement acknowledged the video and the accusation, reiterating that the company found the claims "completely unfounded" but was investigating the "abhorrent" behavior.

The company's initial response led to a backlash on social media, with some customers expressing intent to boycott the chain. Critics pointed to a perceived contradiction between calling the claims unfounded and launching an investigation. "Saying you believe it’s unfounded and then saying you’ll investigate is crazy," one user commented.

One individual, claiming to be a former cook at a Texas Roadhouse location, stated on social media that such practices were true and an "open secret" at their former workplace. The "White and Proud" Facebook group could not be publicly located, and no screenshots or other evidence have been released to support the specific claims made in the TikTok video. The Post has reached out to both Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse for further comment.
