Texas Roadhouse Customer Claims Steak Scam in Viral Video

An Illinois man has accused Texas Roadhouse of serving him lower-quality steaks than he ordered, despite charging him for more expensive cuts. The customer, Kenneth Card, detailed his experience in a viral TikTok video, claiming this had occurred multiple times at the Forsyth, Illinois location.

Card, a regular at the restaurant, stated that he ordered an 8 oz filet mignon, which typically costs around $30, but was served a sirloin steak, valued at approximately $20. He reported recognizing the difference in cuts due to his prior experience working in restaurant kitchens.

In the TikTok video, Card expressed his disappointment, saying, "Texas Roadhouse, shame on you." He recounted bringing the issue to the attention of an employee, who then took the steak back to the kitchen. According to Card, the staff confirmed the mix-up. He then spoke with a manager, informing her that this was the third time he had received a sirloin when he ordered a filet. Card claimed the manager dismissed his concern, suggesting such an error was impossible.

A representative for Texas Roadhouse told Fox News that the company could not verify that the incident occurred on three separate occasions but acknowledged the specific mix-up and stated that management had addressed the issue promptly. Despite this, Card has indicated he will no longer frequent the Forsyth location.

The customer's video has garnered significant attention on TikTok, with other users sharing similar experiences at the same Texas Roadhouse location. Some commenters suggested that the restaurant might be intentionally serving cheaper cuts to save costs or increase profits, with one user writing, "They were hoping you didn’t notice!"

Card warned other consumers to be vigilant about their orders and what they are paying for when dining out.
