A Texas mother of five died from stab wounds after a confrontation with three women, including a 19-year-old identified as Amaya Cookie Diaz, who is accused of stabbing the victim. The incident occurred in a border town.

A photograph, reportedly taken moments after 32-year-old Caroline "Caro" Peña was stabbed, shows her pink T-shirt covered in blood. The image depicts three women standing near Peña, with two matching police descriptions of the assailants. Surveillance footage later showed Diaz wearing a red tank top and blue jeans. Her older sister, 21-year-old Kitty Mia Diaz, who has tattoos covering her right arm, was seen in a pink tank top and blue jeans. It is unclear if the third woman in the photograph, wearing a grey t-shirt, is 21-year-old Kyandra Renee Faz, who also faces murder charges.

Peña succumbed to her injuries at a San Antonio hospital on Thursday evening. Diaz, Kitty Mia Diaz, and Faz have been arrested and each have a $5 million bond. All three face first-degree murder charges and have requested court-appointed attorneys.

The photograph was reportedly shared on a local community Facebook page before being removed. The victim, Caroline Peña, is survived by her five children.
