Texas Mother Charged with Attempted Murder After Alleged Family Stabbing

A Texas mother is facing charges of attempted capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her husband and two young children in their home.

Authorities were alerted to the incident when a 34-year-old man called 911 at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, reporting that his wife had stabbed him. First responders arrived at the residence on Daylily Drive and found the man with a stab wound to the head.

During their response, officers also discovered a three-year-old girl and a 10-month-old boy inside the home, both with stab wounds to the chest. The woman, identified as 37-year-old Holly Flores, was detained at the scene.

Flores, her husband, and their two children were all transported to the hospital. Police Chief Robert Crawford stated during a press conference that the husband and children are expected to survive their injuries, though they remain hospitalized for observation.

Flores has since been released from the hospital and is in custody at Denton County Jail. Chief Crawford noted that Flores has not provided any information about the incident, describing her as unresponsive.

"Very, very heartbreaking when we have to respond to a traumatic event such as this," Crawford said. "Just prayers for the family and for our officers as well. You know, most people don't see tragedies like this in a lifetime."
