A Texas man is accused of murdering his estranged wife during a contentious divorce, with police arriving at the scene to find the victim's body and the suspect, Jake Bigoni, with blood on his shirt.
Authorities were called to the couple's apartment in Plano, Texas, for a welfare check on August 18, 2026, after Eliana Bigoni failed to pick up her two young sons from school. Eliana's mother and a friend had alerted police, stating Jake Bigoni had been violent in the past. She was last known to be at the apartment, and she never made her scheduled appointment.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Eliana Bigoni's body in the trunk of a white Hyundai in the apartment garage. The affidavit stated her face and head sustained significant damage. The apartment itself reportedly contained a large amount of blood and blood spatter. The two children, ages 5 and 2, were present in the home at the time of the incident and were subsequently removed by officers.
Jake Bigoni, 37, was found by police with what was later identified as a blood stain on his shirt. According to police documents, shortly before officers arrived, Bigoni allegedly called his mother and said, "I have something to tell you. She's dead. We got into a fight and she is dead."
The couple had relocated from Orlando, Florida, to the Dallas area in August 2025, with Eliana, a realtor, sharing her excitement about the move for her husband's job. She had previously worked as a realtor in Florida and had shared social media posts indicating she had spent time in the Miami area in the months leading up to her death.
Jake Bigoni has been charged with murder and abuse of a corpse. He is being held at the Collin County Jail and was denied bond by a judge. Public records indicate no prior criminal history for Bigoni. Neither his nor Eliana's family have responded to requests for comment.
