Responders with the Fort Worth Fire Department rescued an individual from the cab of a crane approximately 22 stories above ground on Saturday. The department received a call for a medical emergency at a construction site at JPS Health Hospital.

Upon arrival, crews found the individual located about 220 feet in the air inside the crane cab. Technical rescue teams gathered their equipment and began ascending the crane's ladder, carrying all necessary gear for the rescue operation. Once at the crane's apex, they provided immediate emergency medical care while formulating a plan for the patient's descent.

The rescue team successfully connected the individual to a ropes and rigging system and lowered them to the ground. The entire operation, from reaching the patient to their safe lowering, was completed in less than an hour. The crane operator was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The Fort Worth Fire Department shared photos and details of the rescue effort on social media.
