Texas Coach Sarkisian to Evaluate All Options After Consecutive Losses, Including Quarterback Arch Manning

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian announced that he will evaluate all aspects of the team's performance following a two-game losing streak, including a potential change at quarterback. The comments came after the Longhorns suffered a 30-27 upset loss to Florida at home, a game sealed by a late sack-fumble by quarterback Arch Manning.

"Everything means everything," Sarkisian said when asked about potential changes. "It would be easy for me to say, 'Hey, Arch was the problem today.' Was Arch perfect? No. But nobody was perfect on offense today."

Texas entered the matchup against Florida having lost the No. 1 ranking after a previous defeat to unranked Oklahoma. The loss to Florida marked the first time the Longhorns have lost consecutive games to unranked opponents since 1936. Sarkisian described the team's performance as "extremely disappointing," adding that their play was subpar for most of the game.

"We're not playing very good football right now," Sarkisian stated. "I have to evaluate everything. It's gonna be a long night." He also indicated that his own playcalling as offensive coordinator would be subject to review.

The Longhorns managed only 50 offensive snaps, their lowest total under Sarkisian. Manning finished the game with 173 passing yards and one touchdown, but was also sacked five times. Florida's victory over Texas on Saturday was their second in the last three matchups, following a 29-21 win in October 2025.

Texas is set to host Ole Miss in Austin next Saturday.
