Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, currently seeking a U.S. Senate seat, was reportedly seen traveling to Iceland with a woman with whom he is alleged to be having an affair. The trip comes as Paxton is engaged in a close race against Democratic opponent James Talarico, with polls showing a razor-thin lead for the Republican.
Paxton, 63, and Tracy Duhon, 58, were reportedly seen traveling together in economy class on a flight from Washington D.C. to Reykjavik. Duhon, a Christian influencer, was identified as Paxton's mistress by the Daily Mail in September. She was married when the affair reportedly began in May 2024 but has since divorced. Paxton is still married to Texas State Senator Angela Paxton, who reportedly filed for divorce last year on "biblical grounds."
According to reports, fellow passengers recognized Paxton on the flight. One passenger described the pair as "clearly together, but they weren't overly affectionate." Footage reportedly shows the couple arriving in Iceland and later, after boarding an airport shuttle, Paxton appeared to notice they were being filmed.
Paxton has not denied a relationship with Duhon, and he has previously been pictured with her on a ski trip in Colorado in December. Duhon reportedly purchased a $2 million mansion in Frisco, a Dallas suburb, where she and Paxton have allegedly been living together since Valentine's Day. Their union, if finalized, would be Paxton's second marriage and Duhon's third.
Paxton's campaign for the U.S. Senate has secured an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, who backed Paxton over incumbent Senator John Cornyn in a contentious Republican primary. However, the general election presents a tougher challenge. Polling data indicates Paxton holds a narrow lead of approximately 1.25 percentage points over Talarico, with some polls showing the candidates tied. A survey from the University of Texas also indicated that independent voters, crucial for victory in the general election, favor Talarico over Paxton by a significant margin.
Paxton, described as a MAGA firebrand, has faced multiple scandals throughout his decade in public office. He was previously indicted on securities fraud charges, which were later dismissed. He was also impeached by the Texas House of Representatives on allegations including bribery and obstruction of justice, but was acquitted by the Senate. During his 2022 impeachment trial, allegations of a quid pro quo arrangement with a donor in exchange for helping a former mistress find employment also surfaced, which Paxton has denied.
