Texas A&M police reported a series of arrests and ejections during the university's season-opening football game against the Missouri State Bears on Saturday. The Aggies secured a decisive 50-0 victory, but the stands saw significant police activity.
Multiple individuals were removed from Kyle Field for public intoxication, with one arrestee reportedly becoming belligerent and seeking a physical confrontation with another fan. Police also issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol to four underage fans.
In another incident, a contract employee for SSC Services for Education was ejected after becoming agitated with a supervisor and then officers when asked to tuck in their shirt.
One spectator was removed for mocking officers while holding a canned cocktail not sold within the stadium. Additionally, two individuals were arrested for criminal trespass after attempting to access the stadium by entering the Wellness Center and being previously stopped from entering the Bright Football Complex.
The most serious charge involved a report of invasive visual recording. Manuel Ramirez, 61, was arrested on suspicion of taking non-consensual 'upskirt' videos of a female fan. According to arrest records, security was alerted by a witness who observed Ramirez recording under a woman's shorts. Officers located Ramirez and observed him raising his phone to record a woman on an elevated ramp. The victim chose to press charges, and invasive visual recording is a state jail felony in Texas.
Ramirez's phone was seized as evidence, and he was booked into Brazos County Jail. He was released on a $15,000 bond on Monday. Ramirez was employed by SSC Services for Education, a third-party custodial services provider, not by Texas A&M. The company terminated his employment following the incident, stating the conduct was unacceptable and inconsistent with their values.
