Terrion Arnold Case Sees Co-Defendant Plead Guilty, Receive 10-Year Sentence

Terrion Arnold, a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks, faces a significant legal setback as a co-defendant in his kidnapping and robbery case has pleaded guilty. Boakai Hilton, identified as a childhood friend of Arnold's, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday in Florida after admitting to charges of kidnapping and robbery. As part of his plea agreement, Hilton is obligated to testify against Arnold in future proceedings. Two other individuals involved in the case have also entered guilty pleas.

Arnold, 23, is accused of masterminding a plot that allegedly resulted in the robbery and assault of three men. Prosecutors allege that Arnold directed co-defendants to lure the victims to an apartment, where they were subsequently robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint. The victims, described as young adult males, sustained visible injuries, including being pistol-whipped, and had personal property stolen. Arnold faces eight felony counts in connection with the incident, with potential for a life sentence.

Prosecutors contend that Arnold orchestrated this alleged retaliatory act after reporting the theft of approximately $250,000 worth of personal items from an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, in February. Arnold claimed to have lost $100,000 in cash, an $80,000 necklace, and a team-issued cellphone. However, state attorneys assert that there is no evidence to link the alleged victims of the robbery to those who purportedly stole Arnold's belongings. The accusations suggest Arnold organized the kidnapping and robbery mere hours after reporting his own loss to the Largo Police Department.

Arnold's agent, Denise White of EAG Sports Management, has stated that her client maintains his innocence and categorically denies any involvement. White's statement indicated that the prosecution's case relies on testimony from convicted felons who may be motivated to shift blame to reduce their own sentences. Arnold's legal team expressed confidence in his vindication through the judicial process.

Despite the charges, Arnold was signed by the Seahawks in August. He was placed on the commissioner's exempt list, rendering him ineligible to play or practice with the team while his legal proceedings are ongoing. He was previously released by the Detroit Lions on the same day a judge set his bail at $1 million, allowing him to practice and play for a team as he awaited trial. Arnold has been permitted to work out at the Seahawks' facility and attend meetings but cannot participate in practice or games. His attorneys successfully argued against the prosecutors' request for an ankle monitor, citing its interference with his ability to play football.

Arnold was a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. During his two seasons with the Lions, he played in 24 games with 22 starts, recording one interception and defending 18 passes.
