Teresa Giudice Addresses Daughter Milania's Mental Health Struggles, Cites 'Fentanyl in Her System'

Teresa Giudice, star of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey,' has spoken out about her daughter Milania's recent mental health challenges, stating that Milania, 20, is "going through an incredibly difficult time." Giudice's statement follows a public incident at Tampa International Airport where police were called.

During the airport confrontation, bodycam footage obtained by TMZ revealed Giudice telling police that Milania allegedly had fentanyl in her system during a previous incident, prior to being hospitalized under Florida's Baker Act. In the footage, Milania can be heard saying she had been "laced" with the drug, while Giudice repeatedly expressed her desire to "save her life."

In a statement released on Instagram, Giudice emphasized that her children's health, safety, and well-being are paramount. She explained that Milania has experienced significant grief and psychological trauma following the deaths of two close friends, including her childhood friend Victoria Zardoya, who died at age 20 after a fall. Giudice acknowledged that grief affects individuals differently and that watching her child process such loss is challenging.

Giudice requested compassion, kindness, and privacy for her daughter during this vulnerable period, noting that Milania is a young woman healing from deeply personal experiences. She thanked those who have sent well wishes.

This is not the first recent public struggle for Milania. In May, she was arrested for alleged domestic violence at her mother's New Jersey home. According to a report, she allegedly threw items in the home, leading her sister Gabriella to call 911. Milania was charged with one count of simple assault, though no weapons were involved and no injuries were reported. She pleaded not guilty and has since addressed the incident briefly on TikTok, stating, "It is what it is. S*** happens in life. Just become a better person and talk about it."

Milania's manager and family friend, Maria DeSantis, confirmed that Milania is receiving professional care. DeSantis stated that Milania is surrounded by loved ones and professionals working to support her through this challenging time, particularly after the loss of her friend Victoria. She added that Milania hopes her experiences might eventually help others, but that privacy is needed for her and her family's healing process.

Milania's father and Giudice's ex-husband, Joe Giudice, also issued a statement, asking people to consider his daughter's recent struggles before judging her. He described Milania as a "good girl" with a "big heart" who is currently going through a difficult period.
