Teresa Ganzel, Johnny Carson Show Regular, Steps Out in Los Angeles
The veteran actress and comedian was recently spotted in Los Angeles, marking a rare public appearance.
Veteran actress and comedian Teresa Ganzel, best known for her frequent appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," was recently seen during an outing in Los Angeles. Ganzel, 69, was spotted looking relaxed and stylish while out on Monday, engaging in activities including participating in the Toluca Lake HOA's Story Slam event.
Ganzel's career began with acting training in Chicago before she moved to Hollywood. Her early television work included a role on "Three's Company," followed by film appearances in "Transylvania 6-5000," "The Toy," and "National Lampoon's Movie Madness." She also had a role in the film "The Toy," appearing opposite Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason.
Her association with "The Tonight Show" began after her role in the sitcom "Teachers Only," a Carson Production. Despite the show's short run, Ganzel was invited to appear on "The Tonight Show" panel to promote the series. Her interviews with Carson were successful, leading to further invitations. She recalled that Carson found her nervous energy humorous and invited her back for panel discussions and to share anecdotes. This led to an offer to perform sketch work, most notably in the "Tea Time Lady" segment.
Beyond her late-night appearances, Ganzel has built a notable voice-acting career, contributing to numerous Pixar films. Her voice credits include roles in "Wall-E," "Monsters, Inc.," "Up," "Toy Story 3," "Monsters University," and "Cars."
Her television credits also span a wide range of shows, including "The Love Boat," "Married... with Children," and "Mr. Belvedere." Ganzel also appeared in "Despicable Me 3."
