Tennessee Mother Faces DUI, Child Neglect Charges After Alleged Cliff Drive

A Tennessee mother is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving her vehicle off a cliff with her two young children inside. Chase Ryan Klinedinst, 30, was reportedly driving on a dead-end road near "Coffey's Cliff" in Chattanooga when the incident occurred.

An affidavit states that Klinedinst's Honda CR-V fell approximately 25 feet before driving off the cliff and landing upside down near railroad tracks. The children, who were secured in safety seats, were transported to a hospital. One child sustained a broken arm and a bruised lung, while the other was treated and released.

Investigators noted that Klinedinst exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, combative behavior towards medics, and a strong odor of alcohol. Two bottles of wine were found in the vehicle, one of which was empty.

Klinedinst has been charged with two counts of child neglect, driving under the influence (DUI), and vehicular assault. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is the charging agency. She is scheduled to appear in court on November 17.
