Tennessee Death Row Inmate Declines Last Meal Ahead of Execution

Christa Pike, who is scheduled for execution on Wednesday, has declined to have a last meal. Pike, 50, is slated to become the first woman executed in Tennessee in more than 200 years.

Pike was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. She was also convicted in 2001 for attempting to strangle another inmate with a shoestring.

Inmates on death row typically make a special request for their final meal. However, the Tennessee Department of Corrections confirmed that Pike has not made such a request, according to WJHL 11.
