Teenager Hospitalized After Gang Attack in Glasgow Shopping Center

A 19-year-old man was hospitalized after being attacked by a group of youths inside the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow on Friday afternoon. Video circulating on social media appears to show the victim, who was using a crutch and wearing a medical boot, being knocked to the ground and then repeatedly punched and kicked.

Another individual was also pushed to the ground during the incident before security staff intervened. Police Scotland confirmed that the 19-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which included a head wound. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the shopping centre in an effort to identify the assailants.

The attackers had fled the scene by the time law enforcement arrived. Shoppers and security personnel provided initial assistance to the injured man. The assault occurred just days after dispersal zone powers, intended to combat anti-social behavior, were extended in the area.
