Teenager Fatally Stabbed in 'Frenzied Attack' with Zombie Knife, Court Hears

A teenage boy died on the street from a stab wound to the heart and lung inflicted by a "zombie knife," a court has been told. Tristan Kerr, 17, allegedly suffered a frenzied attack at a house in Lower Francis Street in February.

Georgie Mears, 19, denies murder and is on trial at Newport Crown Court alongside Connor Palfrey, 24, Ricardo Elliot, 27, and Elexi Manny, 24. All four are accused of Kerr's murder through joint enterprise.

Kerr was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination revealed a stab wound measuring 13.5cm (5.3 inches). Prosecutors stated that Kerr bled heavily before collapsing and telling a friend, "I'm hurting. My side - I love you bro. You're a good 'un you are."

While the exact motive remains unclear, text messages presented to the court suggested Palfrey and Elliot were involved in drug dealing, including cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis, and discussed the collection of drug debts.

Mears, Palfrey, and Elliot were reportedly driven to the house by Manny in her Volkswagen Polo. The group arrived shortly after 5:30 p.m. Kerr had gone to the house to play Fortnite and smoke cannabis with friends.

Prosecutors allege Mears entered the house armed with the knife, described by witnesses as approximately 10 inches long, slightly curved, with holes, and purple and silver in color. Mears allegedly greeted Kerr and began brandishing the knife, repeating "What you want?" Palfrey followed Mears into the house carrying a wooden stick.

Witnesses reported that Palfrey warned others in the living room not to intervene and appeared to be directing the events. Elliot allegedly stood in the hallway as a lookout. The fatal attack reportedly lasted less than two minutes.

Prosecutor Michael Jones KC told the jury that Mears was seen "stabbing and swinging out" at Kerr, who attempted to push him away. Palfrey reportedly watched the attack with the wooden stick raised, described by the prosecution as if "warning the others not to get involved."

"Tristan Kerr died at the scene as a consequence of that attack and that fatal blow deliberately inflicted on him," Jones said. "Although that fatal blow was delivered by Georgie Mears, all four of them bear the joint responsibility for, and are therefore guilty of his murder."

Manny, the driver, is accused of being aware that two passengers were armed and entering the house immediately after the stabbing, then acting as the getaway driver. The four defendants were later arrested in Hereford.

The trial is ongoing.
