An 18-year-old was fatally stabbed after being chased by a group of individuals through Coventry, England, in February. Chilling CCTV footage captured Michael Ababio attempting to outrun his pursuers, who were on foot and e-bikes, before being cornered and attacked outside a library.

Another 19-year-old man was also stabbed during the incident but survived. The victim and his friend had initially evaded the group outside a mosque, but they were targeted again later, leading to Ababio's death.

Ismail Nabeel, 18, was found guilty of murder following a trial at Warwick Crown Court after admitting manslaughter. A 17-year-old, who cannot be named, admitted to murder. Mahad Mohammed, 19, and Shakeel Ahmed, 18, had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter. One of the defendants reportedly attempted to flee to Pakistan to evade arrest.

Nabeel, Mohammed, Ahmed, and the unnamed 17-year-old are scheduled to be sentenced in October.

Detective Inspector Nigel Box, who led the investigation, stated, "Michael's death was a tragic and senseless loss of life. He was attacked by this group, two of whom pursued and cornered him next to the library before stabbing him." He added that the "level of premeditation which went into the killing, along with the lengths the four defendants went to in order to avoid arrest, shows how deliberate and knowingly wrong their actions were."

Michael's twin brother paid tribute to him, saying, "Michael was more than just a brother, he was my second half. He aligned with everything that I liked. Words cannot express the pain we are all feeling right now."
