An 18-year-old, Michael Ababio, was stabbed to death in Coventry after being pursued by a group of individuals. Chilling CCTV footage from February shows Mr. Ababio sprinting through the city, attempting to outrun attackers on foot and e-bikes.

According to reports, the victim and a friend initially evaded a chase outside a mosque, but the group later targeted them again. Mr. Ababio was cornered near a library and fatally stabbed, while another 19-year-old victim survived a stabbing.

Ismail Nabeel, 18, admitted to manslaughter but was convicted of murder following a trial at Warwick Crown Court. A 17-year-old, whose identity is protected, admitted to murder. Mahad Mohammed, 19, and Shakeel Ahmed, 18, had previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

One of the convicted individuals attempted to flee to Pakistan to evade arrest, while others attempted to remain inconspicuous, police stated. Nabeel, Mohammed, Ahmed, and the 17-year-old are scheduled for sentencing in October.

Michael Ababio's twin brother described the loss as losing his "second half," expressing the profound pain felt by his family. Detective Inspector Nigel Box, who led the investigation, characterized the death as a "tragic and senseless loss of life." He noted the premeditation involved and the efforts made by the defendants to avoid capture, highlighting the deliberate nature of their actions.
