A teenage boy faces trial for the attempted murder of his teacher after allegedly attacking her with a large kitchen knife at a school in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The 16-year-old, whose identity is protected by court order, denies attempted murder, wounding with intent, and unlawful wounding, though he has admitted to possessing a knife.

The incident occurred at Milford Haven Comprehensive School when the boy, after asking his teacher, Vicki Williams, for homework assistance, reportedly followed her into a classroom. Swansea Crown Court heard that the boy then closed the classroom door behind him and, while holding his bag, launched an attack on Williams with a knife.

Prosecutors stated that Williams, during the assault, managed to defend herself and screamed for help. She recalled thinking, "I hope that's not a knife because I'm dead." The court was presented with CCTV footage showing the boy closing the door. The prosecution described the boy's face as showing "pure hatred" during the attack.

Williams sustained a stab wound to the head during the altercation. The teenager has pleaded not guilty to the most serious charges. The trial continues.
