A 16-year-old boy has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in connection with a security alert in Omagh, County Tyrone. Police conducted a planned search on Monday at a property on Gardenville Avenue, where they discovered four viable explosive devices.

The devices were removed from the scene for forensic examination. Residents who had been evacuated from their homes during the alert have since returned.

Detective Inspector Winters urged the public to refrain from speculation regarding the incident. "It's important to stress that, while the suspect has been arrested under the Terrorism Act, our investigation to establish a motive remains very much ongoing," Winters stated.
