Teenage footballer Taylor Coulter required hospital treatment after being injected with drugs by a stranger while on holiday in the Spanish resort of Magaluf. The incident occurred on June 21, and Coulter has had significant memory loss of the events following the attack.
Friends of Coulter have provided details of what happened, reporting that they contacted her parents and medical professionals for advice. At the hospital, blood tests confirmed the presence of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a powerful sedative often associated with recreational use and known as a date rape drug, as well as an antidepressant.
GHB is known to cause extreme sleepiness and can lead to memory erasure of the period during which it was active in the system. Doctors also expressed concern about potential blood infections stemming from the needle injection. Coulter, who is described as a rising football star, is now undergoing treatment with antiviral medications to guard against HIV and hepatitis, though these medications have also had an impact on her health.
