Teen Attacker Sentenced for Cocaine-Fueled Assaults

Jayden Swift has been jailed for four years and one month after pleading guilty to two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. The attacks occurred in Barnsley town center, South Yorkshire, in January 2026.

CCTV footage captured Swift punching one man approximately 20 times and leaving him unconscious. When another man intervened to help the first victim, Swift attacked him as well. The footage shows Swift delivering a forceful kick to the second man's head, rendering him unconscious. Swift then proceeded to kick the fallen man's head again before celebrating his actions with his arms raised.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that the incident began after Swift had a brief interaction with the first victim before launching an "unprovoked, senseless and serious" assault. The prosecutor stated that the first victim sustained injuries to his head, including his eye and temple, and suffered a blackened eye. The second victim received treatment at Barnsley General Hospital for bruising to his eye and scalp and grazing to his head.

Both victims were intoxicated and have limited recollection of the events. Swift's defense attorney noted that Swift also had no memory of the incident due to intoxication from a combination of cocaine and alcohol.

CCTV footage captured Swift's drug and alcohol-induced brawl during a night out in Barnsley town centre, South Yorkshire, in January this year.

Swift then unleashes a savage kick to the man's head while he is on the ground, knocking him unconscious.

In addition to the prison sentence, Swift was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge and was issued a ten-year restraining order protecting both victims.
