A British teenager is accused of stirring up racial hatred against Jewish people and distributing terrorist material, including a video of the 2019 Christchurch mosque massacre, a court heard.

Damian Woolfenden, 18, allegedly posted the video of the attack at the Al Noor Mosque in New Zealand, where white supremacist Brenton Tarrant killed over 50 people, on a platform called White-Pilled TV. The court was told the video gained 91,000 views and was trending on the site, which describes itself as a "free-speech pro-white platform."

Woolfenden, of Bury in Greater Manchester, also allegedly shared the manifesto of Norwegian neo-Nazi Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in 2011, on Telegram. Investigators also believe he possessed copies of manifestos by US white supremacist Payton Gendron and German neo-Nazi Stephan Balliet, along with a firearms guide, on a home computer.

Prosecutors allege Woolfenden made references to fighting "communist Zionist scum Jews" on his X account. He is further accused of targeting foreign people and distributing terrorist documents, and of advising others on joining extremist groups like National Action and the National Front, according to reports.

Woolfenden appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday via video link. He faces seven charges, including two counts of transmitting the contents of a terrorist publication, one count of possessing documents useful for terrorism, and four counts of publishing threatening written material. He indicated no plea to the charges.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear next at the Old Bailey next month. If convicted, he faces a prison sentence of several years.
