Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, has been identified by authorities as the individual who wielded the knife in the fatal stabbing of Caroline Peña, a mother of five, in Del Rio, Texas. Diaz, along with her sister Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and their friend Kyandra Renee Faz, 21, were each issued $5 million bonds on first-degree murder charges.

According to court documents, Peña, 32, arrived at Faz's residence on Thursday afternoon reportedly looking to start a fight. Surveillance footage shows Peña's black Dodge pickup truck arriving at the house, with Diaz and her companions arriving shortly after in a black Chrysler 300. The video reportedly shows Amaya Cookie Diaz exiting the passenger seat and confronting Peña while holding an object believed to be a knife. Diaz is accused of striking Peña in the back, causing blood to soak her shirt. Kitty Diaz and Kyandra Faz then allegedly joined in, assaulting Peña before fleeing the scene.

Peña was transported to a local hospital by her nephew and later died from her stab wounds approximately seven hours later in San Antonio. The three accused attackers appeared in court on Friday and each requested court-appointed attorneys. Caroline Peña in a close-up photo with a butterfly tattoo on her throat.
