Teddi Mellencamp Undergoes Cosmetic Surgery Amid Stage Four Cancer Battle
The reality TV personality revealed she had an eyelid lift procedure after receiving clearance from her oncologists and later shared positive scan results.
Teddi Mellencamp, known for her role on 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' has revealed that she underwent a blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift, while undergoing treatment for stage four cancer. Mellencamp, 45, shared the news on her Instagram stories, detailing that the procedure was cleared by her cancer doctors.
Her surgeon, Dr. Sarmela Sunder, posted behind-the-scenes footage of the procedure to her own Instagram page, which led to many fans reaching out to Mellencamp. "The things that I can tell you, that I don't need to keep answering, is, of course, it was fine with my cancer doctors, that's why I agreed to do it," Mellencamp explained. She noted that she was awake during the surgery and was scheduled to have her stitches removed days later, while also continuing with immunotherapy.
Dr. Sunder stated in her post that while Mellencamp had wanted the procedure for some time, they waited until she received medical clearance from her oncologists. "She got the 'all-clear' and we were able to perform the procedure under local anesthesia. Just like everything else in her life, Teddi handled it like a true champ," Sunder wrote.
Mellencamp's fans responded positively to the news, with one commenting, "Her eyes instantly look even brighter." Her podcast co-host Tamra Judge also offered support with red heart emojis.
Mellencamp also addressed any potential criticism, sharing an image of her eyelids being checked and writing, "I hear all of you saying I don't need this... But I want it!"
Later in the week, Mellencamp provided an update on her cancer treatment. She shared that she was undergoing immunotherapy and having scans done. "So, I'm getting my MRI and my CT scans," she said in a selfie video, admitting she was nervous due to not having scans in four months.
Following the scan results, Mellencamp posted a positive update: "All the cancer scans came back good. Immunotherapy time and ice time for blephy too."
Mellencamp was first diagnosed with stage two melanoma in 2022. She later revealed that her cancer had progressed to stage four, metastasizing to her lungs and brain. After being given a 50/50 chance of survival, she announced in October 2025 that her cancer was undetectable. As of August of the previous year, she had nine months of immunotherapy treatments remaining. She had previously described immunotherapy as "the worst" and felt sick at times during the treatment.
