Teddi Mellencamp Reveals Breakup Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp, 45, announced this week that her boyfriend, PJ Conley, 31, ended their four-month relationship, a revelation she shared with tears on her podcast, "Two Ts in a Pod."

Mellencamp recounted that after a pleasant dinner, Conley initiated a conversation about their future. She explained her hesitation, stating, "I kinda just talk day to day because, to be perfectly honest, I don't know if I'm gonna be alive in the future. I'm just enjoying where I'm at."

Mellencamp has been undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022. Her diagnosis began as stage 2 melanoma and later spread to her lungs and brain. She underwent surgery to remove four tumors and has been receiving immunotherapy.

Despite the relatively short duration of their relationship, Mellencamp noted its significance, mentioning she had met Conley's parents and that they spoke daily. She described feeling a connection and how Conley helped her during her physical challenges, such as difficulty walking.

However, Conley reportedly told Mellencamp that he did not see a future with her. "And he goes, 'But when I look at a future, I don't see you in it,'" Mellencamp recalled through tears. She expressed her feelings of inadequacy, questioning, "Am I just not good enough?"

Mellencamp previously announced her divorce from Edwin Arroyave in 2024 after 13 years of marriage. The couple shares three children: Slate, 14, Cruz, 12, and Dove, six. Arroyave also has a daughter, Bella, 16, from a previous relationship.

In October 2025, Mellencamp shared that her cancer had become undetectable, though she continues to manage side effects from her treatment and brain surgery, including hand tremors and vision difficulties. She has spoken about her efforts to move past feeling sorry for herself and to embrace her current state.

Mellencamp has been battling cancer since 2022, which started as a stage 2 melanoma before spreading to her brain and lungs
