Teddi Mellencamp Announces Breakup Amid Cancer Battle

Former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Teddi Mellencamp, 45, became emotional this week as she announced the end of her four-month relationship with boyfriend PJ Conley, 31. Mellencamp shared the news on her podcast, "Two Ts in a Pod," detailing the unexpected breakup.

Mellencamp recounted that during a recent dinner date, Conley initiated a conversation about their future. She explained her reservations, stating, "I kinda just talk day to day because, to be perfectly honest, I don't know if I'm gonna be alive in the future. I'm just enjoying where I'm at."

Despite the couple's apparent closeness, including Mellencamp meeting Conley's parents and daily communication, he reportedly told her he did not see a future with her. "And he goes, 'But when I look at a future, I don't see you in it,'" Mellencamp shared tearfully. She expressed shock, recalling, "I knew we were in a different place in our lives... He's my person, he makes me feel comfortable. Also, I have issues walking and doing stuff, getting on steps, he's helped me through all this."

Mellencamp revealed that Conley stated he could not provide what she needed for the next stage of their relationship. "I felt like whether he knew it or not, he was breathing life into me. Because sometimes I feel so sad or so sick I feel like I could just crumble. But I feel like he was giving me life," she said. She questioned her self-worth, asking, "But now I feel like, am I just not good enough?"

Mellencamp has been navigating a significant health challenge since her 2022 diagnosis of stage 2 melanoma, which later spread to her brain and lungs. She underwent surgery to remove four tumors and has been undergoing immunotherapy. In October 2025, she announced that her cancer had become undetectable, though she continues to manage side effects from her brain surgery, including hand tremors and vision difficulties.

This relationship news follows Mellencamp's 2024 announcement of her divorce from Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage. Mellencamp cited her children's privacy and well-being as her priority during that transition.
