Ted Lasso Finale Reunites Beloved Characters, Offers Glimpses Into Their Futures
Season 4's closing episode brings back fan favorites like Nate, Sam, and Dani Rojas for a celebratory reunion, hinting at potential future storylines.
The Season 4 finale of "Ted Lasso," titled "Being Alive," delivered a significant reunion of fan-favorite characters, offering viewers a glimpse into their lives beyond AFC Richmond. The episode deviated from expectations of a somber funeral for Mae (Annette Badland) following her death in the penultimate episode, instead focusing on a celebration of her life at her pub.
The returning characters appeared in connection with the Lady Greyhounds' final match at Nelson Road. Keeley (Juno Temple) created a viral video that caught the attention of Nate (Nick Mohammed), who visited the club while in town to see his family. Nate revealed he is now coaching the Polish national team, is married to Jade (Edyta Budnik), and they have a daughter named Athena.
Nate also participated in a Diamond Dogs reunion, where he, along with Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and the group, offered advice to an anxious Roy (Brett Goldstein) about fatherhood. The reunion also featured a musical performance by "The Cat People," which included Alice.
The episode also featured appearances from OG men's team players, including Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández), Isaac McAdoo (Kola Bokinni), Maas (David Elsendoorn), Montlaur (Stephen Manas), Zoreaux (Moe Jeudy-Lamous), Colin Hughes (Billy Harris), Moe Bumbercatch (Moe Hashim), and Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh). They were seen in the stands cheering on the Lady Greyhounds. During a conversation with Roy, Sam reflected on his career, stating, "Sure, but as Dorothy learned, sometimes you have to go away to know where home truly is," hinting at his time away from Richmond.
A brief appearance was also made by Will Kitman (Charlie Hiscock), who was seen assisting Isaac in shaving Beard's head.
While "Ted Lasso" has not yet been officially renewed for a fifth season, the Season 4 finale strongly suggested that the series has more stories to tell, leaving the door open for further appearances from original characters. The season is currently available for streaming on Apple TV+.
