Several prominent figures from the U.S. technology and business sectors have received invitations to a White House state dinner honoring Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The guest list includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Also expected to attend are NVIDIA President Jensen Huang, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell, and Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser. Tim Cook, who recently stepped down as CEO of Apple, has also secured an invitation.

This event marks the second state visit hosted by President Trump and the First Lady this term. The visit, scheduled for September 24th, is described by a senior administration official as the "hottest ticket in town," with significant interest from top political, corporate, and tech leaders.

Musk, Huang, Cook, and Fraser previously accompanied President Trump to Beijing and attended a banquet hosted by Xi Jinping. Xi is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Wednesday, with bilateral meetings planned for the following day, culminating in the state dinner on Thursday.

The visit occurs during a period of heightened U.S.-China tensions, particularly concerning technological competition in artificial intelligence. The state dinner is intended to provide a venue for informal diplomacy.

Ambassador Monica Crowley, the chief of protocol of the U.S., stated that the President and First Lady look forward to welcoming President Xi and Madame Peng. She emphasized that the three-day event's scale reflects the significance of the bilateral relationship and the global strategic issues at play, with every detail meticulously planned to showcase American hospitality.
