Tech Executive Adds Mom's Approval to Demanding Dating Checklist
Brooke LeBlanc, already known for her extensive list of requirements for a partner, has now included her mother's opinion in the vetting process.
A California-based tech executive who gained notoriety for her specific dating criteria has introduced a new stipulation: potential partners must also secure her mother's approval.
Brooke LeBlanc, an executive at Corgi, initially went viral after posting her extensive list of "non-negotiables" on X, formerly Twitter, seeking to find a life partner. She has since updated her criteria to include her mother, who she says is now reviewing potential candidates.
"Foot note: You will now also have to get my mom’s approval as she’s reading replies and sending me ‘which ones are cute’," LeBlanc wrote in a social media update. She shared the note alongside a text message from her mother, who appeared to have already identified a promising prospect.
Her mother's message indicated she was impressed by a man named David Stehle, describing him as "smart, funny and cute." Stehle's X profile identifies him as a "Network Security Consultant (Founder & CEO)," a "BFF to a Bulldog," and a builder involved in a "#modern" project.
LeBlanc's original list of requirements included a man between 35 and 42 years old who is "healthy masculine," smart, funny, and lighthearted. She seeks someone with a "provider/protector mentality" who is "post economic (still hardworking)," as well as kind, generous, and thoughtful.
Key criteria also specified that the potential partner should have no children but "decidedly" want them, and be actively engaged in self-improvement, such as through therapy, reading, or retreats. LeBlanc also stated a preference against long-distance relationships, requiring partners to live in the same city.
Additional preferences included a partner who is fit, sober, and prioritizes their health. She also expressed a preference for men without previous marriages or engagements and ideally working in the tech industry, someone comfortable with risk whose career is "blended into personal life."
The executive's detailed list has sparked considerable discussion online, with some users criticizing the stringent requirements and the challenging dating scene in San Francisco. Others have defended LeBlanc's right to have standards in choosing a partner.
