Taysom Hill has announced his departure from the New Orleans Saints, concluding a nine-year tenure with the team. The 35-year-old player, known for his exceptional versatility across multiple positions, confirmed on Wednesday that his time in New Orleans has ended.

In a heartfelt message to Saints fans, Hill stated that while he has not officially retired from football, a return to the Saints is not an option. He thanked the city and the organization for embracing him since his arrival in 2017.

During his nearly decade-long career, Hill evolved into one of the league's most unique players. He lined up at quarterback, tight end, fullback, and wide receiver, while also contributing significantly on special teams. His impact is statistically reflected, as Hill leaves New Orleans as the only player in the Super Bowl era to record at least 1,000 career passing yards, 1,000 career rushing yards, and 1,000 career receiving yards.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis acknowledged Hill's contributions, citing his "intelligence, unique athletic ability, versatility, and unselfishness." Loomis added that the team plans to honor his achievements at a later date.

As Hill enters free agency, his future remains uncertain. He could opt to retire, particularly after sustaining a significant injury late last season. However, should a contending team seek a versatile player for a playoff push, Hill's name could be a prominent consideration. He signed off his message by stating, "Forever a Saint."
