Taylor Swift donned a custom Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding dress for her marriage to Travis Kelce in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden on July 3. This marks the first bridal gown designed by Jonathan Anderson for a major celebrity since he took the helm at the French fashion house in April 2025.

While photos of Swift's wedding attire have not yet been released, Anderson's recent work provides potential insights into his bridal aesthetic. In the past month, the Irish designer, who also leads his independent JW Anderson label and previously worked at Loewe, created bespoke wedding dresses for model Ming Xi and influencer Eliza Zarzur.

Ming Xi's gown, which drew inspiration from the ceramic works of Magdalene Odundo, featured a bateau neckline, long sleeves crafted from wild silk charmeuse, and an architecturally inspired open back secured with a piano wire mechanism. Zarzur wore a long-sleeved gown with a sculptural, open-back design that took over 640 hours to create. Her dress included a petal-like neckline and a skirt made of silk charmeuse.

Anderson also presented a one-shouldered bridal gown as the finale to his inaugural haute couture collection for Dior, which debuted in January 2026. This gown was adorned with appliqués resembling flower petals.

Swift collaborated closely with both Anderson and Kelce on her custom design. Critics have noted a recurring theme in Anderson's bridal designs, including long sleeves and open backs. However, the practicality of certain elements, like long sleeves, in the context of a New York City summer wedding has been a point of discussion, though the venue was likely heavily air-conditioned.

Swift's choice of Anderson, a celebrated designer, for her wedding dress is expected to result in a memorable and significant bridal fashion moment.
