Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce spent $60,000 for a city permit to close 7th Avenue at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan for their wedding, according to a report by TMZ.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that the couple paid for the street closure to allow their more than 1,000 guests to avoid traffic congestion on their way to the event. A permit application for street closures around Madison Square Garden and for a tent to be set up outside the arena was filed with the city's Street Activity Permit Office for July 2 to July 4, City Hall confirmed in June.
The wedding festivities began on July 2 with a rehearsal dinner at the venue. The nuptials the following evening continued late into the night, with A-list attendees photographed leaving as late as 1 a.m. on July 4.
While the total cost of the wedding has not been disclosed, TMZ previously reported that the police presence alone cost six figures. Madison Square Garden itself reportedly cost the couple $1 million per day. Guests were treated to "unlimited food" and "loads of cakes," with a high-end raffle featuring prizes such as a Chanel handbag and Cartier watches.
Swift, a billionaire, was named the richest female musician in 2024. Kelce's net worth is estimated at $47.3 million, according to Forbes. The couple has been together since the summer of 2023.
