Taylor Swift has reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her new single "Patient Zero," ending Ella Langley's record-breaking streak.

Langley's country hit "Choosin' Texas" held the top position for 24 weeks, a historic run that surpassed Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" for the longest-charting No. 1 single. "Choosin' Texas" now sits at No. 2 on the latest chart.

"Patient Zero," released on September 25, is Swift's 16th song to reach the top of the Hot 100. Swift now ranks third for the most No. 1 songs in Hot 100 history, with 16 tracks, trailing only The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19).

Swift's album "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" also saw three other songs in the top five: "Cleveland!," "Babylon," and "Pink Clouding."

Langley, 27, previously expressed her astonishment at her song's success, stating she was speechless. "Thank you so much. Thank you for loving this song. For listening to it. I don’t even know what to say at this point," she said in an Instagram video on September 22.

In the days following her record-breaking achievement, Langley addressed online criticism during a concert in Columbus, Ohio. She spoke about facing scrutiny regarding her appearance, speech, and style, remarking, "I don’t think I’ve ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year." She concluded by asserting pride in the person who achieved her success, despite the public commentary. "So I’m going to tell you right now. I am proud of that girl that everybody seems to be picking on all the time,” she stated.
