Taylor Swift Skips Chiefs Game in Las Vegas After 'SNL' Appearance
The pop superstar was in New York for a surprise cameo on "Saturday Night Live" instead of attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce's game.
Taylor Swift was not in attendance for the Kansas City Chiefs' divisional game against the Las Vegas Raiders in Las Vegas on Sunday, opting instead for a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" in New York.
The Chiefs secured a 30-27 victory, though the game was also marked by a significant injury to receiver Tyquan Thornton, who suffered a gruesome ankle injury. Travis Kelce, Swift's boyfriend and the Chiefs' tight end, had a subdued performance with only two catches for 15 yards, and Swift was not shown on the broadcast.
Swift made a surprise cameo during host Dakota Johnson's opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live." She appeared in a plaid, off-the-shoulder mini dress. Swift and Johnson, who are close friends, joked during the segment about Johnson staying at Swift's New York City apartment.
This marks a deviation from Swift's recent attendance at several Chiefs games. She was previously seen in Kelce's suite at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs' 31-10 win against the Denver Broncos in Week 1 and their 33-30 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.
Swift's absence from the Las Vegas game comes shortly after the release of her new music, "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore," an extension of her 2025 album "The Life of a Showgirl." The extended album includes the song "Patient Zero," for which a music video starring Johnson and Colin Farrell premiered during the MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. The couple reportedly married on July 3 in New York City, nearly a year after their engagement announcement in August of the previous year.
