Taylor Swift has reportedly had multiple songs removed from TikTok videos posted by President Donald Trump's social media team.
On Wednesday, Swift's 2021 hit "Bet You Think About Me" was featured in a TikTok video showcasing Trump addressing supporters. The accompanying caption referenced Swift's lyrics, reading: "We know you think about us." Hours later, the audio was muted, replaced with a message stating, "This sound isn't available."
This is not the first instance of Swift's music being removed from Team Trump's TikTok content. Rolling Stone reported that Swift's songs had also disappeared from White House videos posted in the previous fall.
Earlier in the week, a different White House video on TikTok, which used Swift's 2020 song "August," was reportedly disabled by the singer. The video, which showed Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks, featured text that read: "Mood because it's August and Donald Trump is your president." A message at the bottom from Team Trump stated, "I'm sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song!" By Friday night, the audio track was gone, replaced with a notice that "The copyright owner hasn't made this sound available in your country."
Swift's fans reacted positively to the removals, with many celebrating the singer's apparent actions in the comments sections of the videos. Some expressed hope that Swift would pursue legal action.
In response to the removal of "August," Trump's TikTok team posted another video using Swift's 2012 song "Red." This video included a manipulated album cover, replacing Swift's portrait with an image of Trump in his signature red MAGA cap, and a mock playlist titled "Red (Donald Trump's Version)." The caption on this video read: "Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party."
By Saturday midday, the audio for "Red" had also been removed from the Team Trump TikTok account. Swift officially regained ownership of her original master recordings in May 2025, giving her control over the copyright of her songs and recordings.
Representatives for Swift and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
