Taylor Swift Reached Out to Bebe Rexha When Designers Refused to Dress Her

Bebe Rexha revealed that Taylor Swift offered her support when designers declined to dress the singer for the 2019 Grammy Awards because of her body type. Rexha shared the anecdote during an interview at the MTV VMAs.
"I remember when I had the whole Grammys situation, and I couldn’t find a dress, and she had reached out to me because we’re the same age," Rexha told E! News. "And I thought that was really, really, really kind of her."
Rexha, who was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2019 Grammys, had previously spoken out on social media about designers refusing to dress her. At the time, she stated that multiple designers told her she was "too big" to wear their creations.
"If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you," Rexha said in a 2019 Instagram video. "I don’t want to wear your f–king dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses."
Ultimately, Rexha wore a red tiered tulle gown designed by Monsoori to the 2019 Grammy Awards. She received support from other celebrities, including Demi Lovato and Rita Ora, following her public statement about the designer rejections.
Rexha has been vocal about body image and has previously addressed online criticism regarding her weight. In February 2025, she acknowledged gaining weight after a troll commented on her appearance, stating she felt "stronger than ever." In May of the same year, she revealed a pregnancy loss and urged critics to be mindful of their comments about others' bodies.
