Taylor Swift recently won over skeptical fan and former NFL player Taylor Lewan with her professionalism and performance at Travis Kelce's annual Tight End University.
Swift joined Kelce at the event last week, an annual gathering for players in the tight end position. During an evening concert portion of the event, Swift performed a rendition of her hit song "Love Story" alongside Lainey Wilson. She dedicated the performance to San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, a friend and rival of Kelce's.
Lewan, who co-hosts the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, recounted the experience on his show. He admitted that while he was a fan of Swift's music when he was younger, it was not his current genre. However, he was struck by Swift's presence backstage before her performance.
"The girl is incredible. What a performer," Lewan stated. "She's got a cluster, she's got a gaggle of individuals with her. But she's in the back before she walks out and you can see her just getting in the zone." He added, "it is so cool that somebody who is as successful as she is, as famous as she is, she just handles her business the correct way at all times."
He described the crowd's reaction to her performance as having a significant "pop," with attendees feeling as though Swift was singing to them individually. "And I thought that was just awesome," Lewan said.
Swift and Kelce are reportedly planning to marry this weekend at New York's Madison Square Garden. While some had speculated the venue choice might be a decoy, reports of equipment being loaded into the venue suggest preparations are underway.
Lewan, who has known Kelce for about a decade, has been tight-lipped about the wedding guest list. Swift's appearance at Tight End University comes as the NFL offseason nears its end. Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs are set to begin their season on September 14 against the Denver Broncos.
