Taylor Swift Dazzles at Academy Museum Gala with Live Debut of "The Fate of Ophelia"
The pop superstar performed a selection of her hits for a star-studded audience at the annual event.
Taylor Swift delivered a memorable performance at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ sixth annual Academy Museum Gala, held Saturday evening in Los Angeles. The Grammy winner took to the stage to perform several of her most popular songs, including the live debut of her hit single "The Fate of Ophelia."
Donning a strapless sparkling gown, Swift also treated the audience to renditions of "Love Story," "Blank Space," and "I Knew It, I Knew You," a song she originally recorded for the "Toy Story 5" soundtrack. The event drew a prominent guest list, with attendees including the evening's honorees filmmaker John Carpenter, Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Gala co-chairs Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw were also in attendance, alongside a host of other celebrities.
Swift arrived at the event, often referred to as the "Met Gala of the West," wearing a strapless pale blue Dior gown. The floor-length dress was crafted from pleated silk and adorned with a beaded bow, channeling a Cinderella-esque aesthetic.
The Academy Museum had announced Swift's performance in an Oct. 8 press release, with Academy Museum Director and President Amy Homma describing the artist as "an extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world."
This performance follows Swift's recent history of high-profile appearances and milestones. Her last major public event was the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in September, where she set a new record by becoming the most-awarded artist in the show's history, surpassing Beyoncé. At that ceremony, she received the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors and also debuted the music video for her song "Patient Zero."
Prior to the VMAs, Swift made a surprise appearance in June at Travis Kelce's "Tight Ends & Friends" concert, performing a duet of her hit "Love Story" with Lainey Wilson. Earlier that same month, she performed "I Knew It, I Knew You" live for the first time at the "Toy Story 5" premiere in Los Angeles, where she also joined Randy Newman for a rendition of "You've Got a Friend in Me."
