Taylor Swift Announces New Single 'Patient Zero'

Taylor Swift has announced the upcoming release of a new single titled "Patient Zero," set to debut on September 25. The announcement was made via her website, where fans can also pre-order three CD variations of the track. These variations include a piano version and an acoustic version, each priced at $3.99.

The Grammy winner shared her excitement on Instagram Tuesday, stating, "I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it’s available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours."

The limited-edition CDs feature different photos of Swift on the front and back covers, with varying color trims. Swift hinted at the release by decorating her website with a countdown timer and visuals reminiscent of her latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl."

"The Life of a Showgirl," Swift's 12th studio album, was released on October 3, 2025. The album, which featured tracks like "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Wood," was announced on her now-husband Travis Kelce's podcast, "New Heights." The album was dedicated in part to her romance with Kelce, with songs referencing their relationship.

Swift and Kelce, who became engaged in August 2025, married on July 3, 2026, in a private ceremony followed by a larger celebration at Madison Square Garden. They have recently been seen supporting each other publicly, including Swift attending Kelce's NFL games and the couple making appearances together in New York City. The couple is reportedly residing in Kelce's Kansas City home during the NFL season and have also purchased a mansion in Ohio.
